The Department of Law, also known as the Office of the Attorney General, is currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Attorney General to join their Civil Rights Section. This hourly position offers a competitive salary of per hour and is open until filled. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in the General Litigation Division and serve the citizens of the State of Georgia by providing top-notch legal representation to state agencies, officers, and employees.

The primary responsibility of the Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Section is to represent state officers and employees who are sued in both their individual and official capacities in civil rights actions. This position requires a member of the Georgia Bar and a graduate from an accredited law school. The ideal candidate will also have at least two years of civil rights experience and possess strong writing skills.

To be considered for this position, all applicants must complete the Department of Law Employment Application, which can be obtained from their website. In addition to the application, candidates must also submit a current resume, a cover letter, two writing samples, and official transcripts from both their undergraduate and law school studies. The application process also includes answering pre-screening questions and completing a Georgia Bureau of Investigation Waiver.
