Job Title: Patent Docket Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
The Patent Docket Specialist at the law firm is tasked with coordinating and maintaining the patent computerized docket system under the supervision of the Docket Supervisor. The specialist will engage in daily communication with practice group lawyers and staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the docket system. Key responsibilities include:

- Managing all aspects of the CPI database, which encompasses information related to each specific application, docket due dates, and remarks.
- Handling incoming communications from domestic and foreign clients.
- Managing communications from the Patent and Trademark Office filed in the Patent office.
- Processing the delivery of incoming electronic communications in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Providing docket, status, and maintenance reports to patent personnel and lawyers.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates applying for the Patent Docket Specialist position should have:

- A high school diploma.
- A minimum of one year of docketing experience or equivalent knowledge of patent processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills to prioritize work and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- The ability to work well under pressure within a collaborative team environment.

Salary Information:
The salary for the Patent Docket Specialist position varies based on the location and other factors. The ranges for different locations are as follows:

- Century City, Los Angeles, Orange County CA, and Seattle, WA: $64,700 - $103,475.
- Chicago, IL: $59,300 - $94,850.
- Washington, .: $62,000 - $99,200.
- San Francisco and Silicon Valley, CA: $67,400 - $107,825.

The base salary will be determined during the interview process and may vary based on prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. Final salary offers might be outside this range based on individual circumstances. Additionally, salary is only part of the total compensation package, which includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. The total compensation package also offers medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and other insurance plans, along with health savings and flexible spending accounts.
