Associate Attorney
Job Responsibilities
The Associate Attorney will join a boutique-sized law firm as a Litigation Attorney, contributing to the firm's success and reputation for providing exceptional legal services. The attorney will handle cases from inception through trial and appeal, including contract disputes, wrongful death, personal injury, commercial disputes, and business matters. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting legal research
- Drafting pleadings and motions
- Managing discovery
- Attending depositions, hearings, arbitrations, mediation, and trials
- Collaborating closely with experienced partners
- Communicating effectively with clients, team members, and partners
- Providing timely reporting and court appearances
Education and Experience Information
Candidates must have at least two (2) years of experience in some or all of the following areas:
- Premises, auto, or products liability
- Healthcare
- Wrongful death and personal injury, primarily in defense positions
- Managing a litigation caseload
- Drafting legal documents, such as briefs, motions, and discovery requests
- Conducting legal research
- Appearing at hearings, depositions, ADR proceedings, and trials
Additional requirements include:
- Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Active membership in the Nevada State Bar, in good standing
- Experience in the courtroom and taking depositions; trial experience is a plus
- Ability to manage a caseload independently and work collaboratively with team members
- A client-focused mindset and a passion for achieving successful outcomes
