Job Title: Family Law Attorney I
Job Responsibilities:
- Mediation experience is highly preferred.
- Trial experience preferred but not required.
- Research and analyze the law on complex legal issues.
- Write memorandums, briefs, letters, and other documents.
- Market personal and firm services to prospective clients.
- Perform discovery of various electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation.
- Conduct due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Communicate and advise clients.
- Manage a schedule to allow for consults and closure of consults to sufficiently reach production/collection objectives, which may include outside core hours and weekend consults.
- Close consults within a range of 30-50% depending on the practice area.
- Timely approve invoices to maintain business health on a month-to-month basis, with failure to do so potentially resulting in disciplinary and financial consequences.
- Ensure support staff are fully utilized and productive.
- Accurately and completely update client databases with fees, engagement, trust, client information, invoices, etc., as required.
- Share work tasks with other attorneys and support staff if over-subscribed to ensure community service objectives are met.
- Engage in brand expansion through blogs, social media posts, board and organization participation, etc.
- Seek positive comments from successful client engagements and positive star reviews.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Expected to bill an average of 1500 hours annually, with collections expected on 1400 hours of invoices worked while maintaining a full-time employment schedule.
Education and Experience Information:
- Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
- Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the bar in the state of intended practice.
- 3+ years of experience as an attorney.
- Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent legal research skills.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted.
Salary Information:
$90,000 - $100,000+ based on experience
