Bilingual Immigration Attorney
A law firm located in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a dedicated Bilingual Immigration Attorney to join its legal team. This role offers the opportunity to assist individuals navigating the . immigration system, with a strong focus on humanitarian, family-based, and removal defense cases. The attorney will be expected to handle all aspects of casework, from legal consultations to courtroom representation, while working closely with a team devoted to client-centered legal advocacy.
Provide comprehensive legal support in immigration matters, including applications for visas, lawful permanent residence, naturalization, and removal defense
Represent clients in court proceedings, USCIS interviews, and immigration-related hearings
Draft legal documents, affidavits, briefs, motions, and supporting materials for various immigration filings
Conduct in-depth legal research and remain current with changing immigration policies and case law
Engage in case strategy discussions and contribute to collaborative decision-making
Maintain detailed case notes, deadlines, and records in accordance with firm protocols
Work closely with paralegals, support staff, and interpreters to ensure effective case management
Communicate with clients in a clear, compassionate, and culturally competent manner
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in at least one . jurisdiction and in good standing
Professional fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal)
Prior experience in immigration law, with exposure to family-based and removal defense cases
Familiarity with relevant . immigration procedures, statutes, and administrative guidelines
Strong oral advocacy and legal writing skills
Self-motivated with the ability to manage a varied caseload
Capacity to work collaboratively in a team-based legal environment
High level of professionalism and ethical standards
Juris Doctor (JD) degree required
Active Bar Membership in any . state (in good standing)
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
