As a Summer Associate, you will be an active member of our client teams, working on actual projects and cases in a variety of practice areas. You will have real responsibility on important client matters, allowing you to gain valuable experience and develop your skills as a future attorney.
Feedback and Mentoring
We believe in the power of feedback and offer ongoing constructive feedback during each project, as well as formal reviews throughout the summer. Our Summer Associates also benefit from training programs and guidance from an associate mentor. Additionally, our Partner lunches provide opportunities for Summer Associates to learn from experienced attorneys about their practice and career path.
Immersive Experience
Our innovative summer program includes an immersive experience where Summer Associates have the opportunity to shadow Senior Associates and Partners in a specific practice group. This exposure allows you to attend depositions, client meetings, court hearings, and more, giving you a glimpse into the day-to-day life of practicing law.

A: Prior to starting, new associates are asked to rank their practice area preferences. Once at the firm, first year associates are typically assigned to a practice area that aligns with their preferences. Each practice area has its own system for assigning work to associates.

A: Absolutely. We are deeply committed to providing pro bono service in our community and encourage all of our attorneys to dedicate a minimum of 50 hours per year to pro bono work. This time is treated as billable, and additional pro bono work may also be treated as billable with approval from the attorney's Unit Manager.
