Job Title: Deputy Attorney General, OAG, Criminal Law Division - Appellate
Job Responsibilities:
The Deputy Attorney General will be allocated to the Appellate Unit within the Criminal Law Division of the Idaho Attorney General’s Office. The role involves engaging in intellectually demanding work within a stimulating environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive legal research
- Preparing and drafting briefs
- Presenting oral arguments to both the Idaho Supreme Court and the Idaho Court of Appeals in matters related to criminal cases
- Providing consultation on other cases managed by the Criminal Law Division due to their legal expertise
- Reviewing legislation as required
- Serving on committees that focus on criminal law issues
- Performing additional related tasks as assigned
Education and Experience Information:
- Must possess a license to practice law in Idaho
- Demonstrated excellence in research, writing, and word processing skills is required
- While not obligatory, previous experience as a prosecutor is preferred
Salary Information:
The salary for this position depends on experience, with a starting point of $90,000, extending to DOE (Depends On Experience).
