Job Title: Deputy Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
The Deputy Attorney at the organization is responsible for providing legal representation to clients appointed by administrative appeals officers. These clients are injured workers seeking benefits under Nevada’s Industrial Insurance Act and Occupational Diseases Act. The Deputy Attorney will:

- Develop and present evidence at formal administrative hearings.
- Brief district courts and the Supreme Court of Nevada on appeals if necessary.
- Maintain direct contact with numerous clients.
- Review large amounts of medical evidence.
- Present testimony at frequent but short evidentiary hearings.
- Conduct legal research and writing for district court reviews and appeals to the Supreme Court.
- Work closely with staff to maintain workflow and manage multiple cases efficiently.
- Marshal available evidence and apply relevant statutes and case law to support clients' success.
- Demonstrate comfort in evidentiary hearing settings while carrying the client’s burden of proof.

Education and Experience Information:
- Graduation from an accredited law school.
- A current license in good standing to practice law in the State of Nevada is required at the time of employment.

The ideal candidate will possess:
- Knowledge of state laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of the Nevada Administrative Procedure Act under NRS chapter 233B.
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills for working with staff and clients.

Salary Information:
The approximate annual salary for the Deputy Attorney position is up to $135,201, plus benefits. The salary range reflects retirement contributions by both the employee and employer. An employer-paid contribution plan is also available with a reduced gross salary.
