Job Title: Practice Manager (Investigations and White Collar and Antitrust)
Job Responsibilities:
The Practice Manager will support the leaders of the Investigations and White Collar and Antitrust practices at the law firm. Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the Director of Practice Management, Practice Group Chairs, partners, business operations departments, and other stakeholders to develop and execute strategic plans for the Practice Group with goals focused on revenue, profitability, headcount, reputation, brand awareness, and competitive differentiation.
- Working with the Finance Department to analyze financials and key performance indicators to manage timekeeper hours, performance trends, and overall practice revenue, providing actionable insights.
- Collaborating with the Talent Department to manage workforce productivity, ensuring work assignments are efficient and equitable, opportunities are aligned with development goals, performance issues are addressed early, and Practice Group size is adjusted to meet workflow demands.
- Coordinating with business operations departments for lateral attorney onboarding efforts.
- Managing daily business operations of the Practice Groups, including budget management, establishing a framework for meetings and communications, supporting firm processes like billing and collections, and following up on initiatives.
- Enhancing client experience by serving as a point of contact for in-house legal operations to improve engagement and efficient delivery of legal services.
- Regularly collaborating with colleagues in Practice Innovation and other departments to drive efficiencies, process improvement, and innovation.
- Supporting Practice Chairs with daily operations, including preparing for meetings and retreats.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, paralegal, or related experience.
- Experience with Investigations and White Collar, Antitrust, or regulatory practices is a plus.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required; JD or MBA is a plus.
The Practice Manager is expected to have:
- Business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive project and operational plans.
- Experience in driving continuous improvement and innovation in business operations, technology, infrastructure, and practices in a complex, matrixed, global professional services environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to handle sensitive and confidential information, and proficiency in financial performance metrics.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, ability to plan and facilitate at group and individual levels, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills, initiative, ability to work independently in high-pressure situations, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated confidence and competence in dealing with individuals in leadership positions, strong work ethic, and a desire to lead and achieve excellence.
Salary Information:
The expected salary wage range for this position is a minimum of $142,300 and a maximum of $185,000 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
