Job Title: Tax Senior, Specialized Tax Services Partnerships
Job Responsibilities:
Tax Specialization:
- Develops an in-depth understanding of technical and practical issues regarding partnership taxation.
- Participates in organizing and conducting effective external CPE training sessions in area of specialization, involving specialists, at least once per year.
- Trains and mentors interns and associates.
- Trains interns and associates on how to use current software tools, as needed.
Research:
- Assists in identifying when research is needed; works with leadership to frame issues concisely for analysis.
- Identifies complex issues for research by the engagement team and provides research methodology for efficient process.
- May train interns and associates on research skills and help frame tax issues for analysis.
- Involves specialists as appropriate.
Tax Consulting:
- Assists with developing, recommending, and implementing efficient methods to maximize client benefits, particularly by decreasing taxes.
- Collaborates with leadership to recommend solutions using a combination of tax and business/industry knowledge.
- Works with leadership to maximize client benefits while managing risk.
- Implements applicable strategies and manages client expectations.
Other Responsibilities:
- Participates in scheduling and managing workload of interns and associates.
- May supervise day-to-day workload of interns on various projects.
- May review work prepared by interns and associates, providing review comments.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred.
- Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.
Experience:
- Two or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience required.
- Specialized partnership experience preferred.
- Experience in private equity, both fund and portfolio company levels, preferred.
License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role preferred.
Software:
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software preferred.
