General Description:

As a Senior Conflicts Attorney, you will play a crucial role in assisting our attorneys with clearing conflicts related to new business intake. This includes identifying potential conflicts of interest, communicating with affected attorneys, and drafting waiver letters. You will also have the opportunity to advise attorneys on professional conduct rules and draft firm policies and procedures related to conflicts of interest. This is a chance to join a new team and make an immediate impact on our Firm.

Key Responsibilities:

- Use your conflicts knowledge to assist in establishing a full clearance process
- Process new client and matter intake on behalf of firm attorneys
- Conduct conflicts checks and review conflict reports
- Communicate with attorneys to resolve conflicts of interest
- Obtain due diligence when necessary for new clients and matters
- Draft waiver letters to clear conflicts
- Advise on professional conduct rules and draft firm policies
- Monitor changes in ethics rules and case law related to conflicts of interest
- Assist with maintaining ethical walls and legal screens
- Special projects and duties as assigned

Required Skills:

- Ability to prioritize and manage a heavy workload in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in research, computer, and database skills
- Knowledge of conflicts of interest principles under professional conduct rules

Required Qualifications & Education:

- 10+ years of legal experience, with 5+ years specifically in conflicts clearance at a large law firm
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- . bar admission in a jurisdiction where the firm has an office

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Moderate or advanced keyboard usage

Compensation:

The salary range for this position varies by location and individual qualifications and experience. In accordance with state and local laws, the pay range for this position is:

- District of Columbia: $149,800k - $224,600k/yr
- New York State: $130,200k - $234,500k/yr
- New York City: $156,300k - $234,500k/yr
- Colorado: $136,700k - $205,100k/yr
- California: $149,800k - $244,200k/yr
