MHLAC, a non-profit organization, is seeking undergraduate and graduate students to join our team as legal interns. Our mission is to protect and advance the rights of individuals with mental health challenges through litigation, policy work, and education. We focus on various areas such as family law, school exclusion and discipline, healthcare reform, and access to mental health care for those in jail or psychiatric facilities.
As a legal intern at MHLAC, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks including legal and factual research, writing, attending meetings, interviewing clients, case management, and participating in court and administrative proceedings. Our internships are generally hybrid, with some in-person work required, but we may have a fully remote option available in limited circumstances.
Semester internships are available for both part-time (at least 10 hours per week) and full-time positions. We are also open to working with your class schedule to accommodate your internship hours. Our fall internships accept resumes until September 1st each year or until all spots are filled.
