Job Title: Child Support Specialist II

Job Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze, and evaluate child support cases to determine appropriate establishment and/or enforcement actions.
- Prepare records of payment, legal pleadings, and correspondence.
- Update computer records and perform locate activities while documenting case activity.
- Negotiate settlements and agreed orders.
- Mediate between parties to resolve issues related to child support payments.
- Monitor and manage a case log.
- Communicate effectively both by phone and in person.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Child Support Specialist I:
- Requirements include a bachelor’s degree OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of professional child support enforcement, accounting, legal, or social work for each year of the required education.
- Alternatively, completion of an associate’s degree in Legal Assistance or a closely related program of paralegal education.
- An associate’s degree in Public Service – Legal Case Management.
- Completion of an American Bar Association-approved paralegal education program.

Child Support Specialist II:
- Requirements include a bachelor’s degree; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of professional child support enforcement, accounting, legal, or social work for each year of the required education, plus one additional year of professional experience in child support enforcement, accounting, legal, or social work.
- Alternatively, a master’s degree or a Juris Doctorate degree.
- An associate’s degree in Legal Assistance or a closely related program of paralegal education and two years of qualifying experience.
- An associate’s degree in Public Service – Legal Case Management and two years of qualifying experience.
- Completion of an American Bar Association-approved paralegal education program and two years of qualifying experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one additional year of qualifying experience for each year of the required bachelor’s degree.

Salary Information:
- Child Support Specialist I: Level I H30A - $36, + Full State Employee Benefits.
- Child Support Specialist II: Level II H30B - $39, + Full State Employee Benefits.

Additional Information:
- The position is located in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
- It is a full-time role eligible for full state benefits.
- Job-related travel is occasional and requires a valid driver's license and maintenance of required car insurance.
