A law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with a background in general civil litigation for its Pittsburgh office. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience, particularly in toxic tort/products liability cases, although this is not a requirement. Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters, including but not limited to toxic tort and products liability cases
  • Represent clients in court, depositions, and mediations
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
  • Conduct legal research and provide advice on complex legal issues
  • Work collaboratively with senior attorneys and other team members to strategize case development
  • Prepare for and assist in trials and other litigation proceedings
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders
  • Attend hearings and conferences, representing the firm’s interests in various legal settings

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of general civil litigation experience
  • Experience in toxic tort or products liability law is a plus
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania
  • A West Virginia license or interest in obtaining one is beneficial but not required
  • Strong academic background
  • Excellent oral and written advocacy skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania
  • West Virginia Bar license (preferred, not required)

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Litigation experience and trial preparation
  • Legal research and analysis
  • Ability to draft legal documents with attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
