A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its Casualty Litigation Department in Pittsburgh. This position is ideal for attorneys with 2 to 5 years of general civil litigation experience, particularly those with a background in toxic tort and products liability cases. Duties

  • Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including casualty and liability defense.
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Conduct depositions and participate in court hearings and trials.
  • Perform legal research and provide strategic case analysis.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and litigation teams to develop case strategies.
  • Participate in professional development programs, including courtroom observation and legal training.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of litigation experience in general civil litigation.
  • Experience with toxic tort or products liability cases is a plus.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Judicial clerkship experience is preferred but not required.
  • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
  • West Virginia bar admission or willingness to obtain licensure is beneficial but not mandatory.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar.
  • West Virginia Bar membership (preferred but not required).
