The State of Louisiana is currently seeking a Legal Secretary to join the Department of Justice, Office of Attorney General Liz Murrill. This is an unclassified position with a salary range of $37, to $49, annually. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing secretarial support to an attorney or several attorneys and must have a high school diploma and a valid driver's license. Preferred qualifications include professional level legal secretarial experience, knowledge of legal documents and terminology, proficiency in drafting routine correspondence and preparing legal documents, and the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
As a Legal Secretary, you will be responsible for preparing, typing, and formatting legal correspondence, memoranda, and other records, as well as organizing and maintaining paper and electronic records. You will also be responsible for scheduling meetings and other appearances, handling administrative documentation for attorneys, and operating office equipment necessary for the production of documents and records.
