Job Title: Senior Partner Accounting Specialist Job Responsibilities: The Senior Partner Accounting Specialist is responsible for assisting the Senior Manager of Partner Accounting in maintaining partners’ capital accounts and processing partners’ payroll. Key responsibilities include: - Maintain and reconcile partners’ capital accounts, including monitoring capital contributions, return of capital, and partner expenses. - Support the monthly payroll process by preparing monthly files and reconciling the payroll register to support files. - Coordinate with the HR department for partners’ insurance premiums, reviewing and reconciling partners’ general ledger accounts for accuracy and proper posting. - Facilitate onboarding and offboarding of partners, including analysis of capital contributions and distributions. - Compile compensation data for actuarial purposes. - Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation and posting of journal entries. - Support the annual financial statement/retirement plan audits and tax return process. - Participate actively in discussions on process improvement and automation. - Collaborate on various projects and requests. - Perform all other duties as assigned or required. Education and Experience Information: Required: - After orientation at the law firm, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage, and other firm applications. - Advanced Excel skills. - Availability to work overtime, as required. - 4+ years of accounting-related experience. Preferred: - Bachelor’s degree in accounting. - CPA designation. - Previous law firm or equity partner/shareholder accounting experience. - Experience with Elite 3E. - Payroll experience with familiarity with payroll software systems. Competencies: - Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills. - Strong professional communication skills to interact effectively with partners, individuals, and others outside of the organization. - Ability to understand and relate to the needs and perspectives of partners. - Ability to manage and maintain confidential information and exercise sound judgment. - Accuracy in financial data and reporting, requiring a high level of attention to detail. - Forward thinker who can identify issues and bottlenecks, brainstorm solutions, and manage efforts to resolve them. - Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. - Ability to adjust to changing circumstances and new information. Salary Information: The expected hourly pay range for this position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week is - , which equates to an annual salary of $80, - $117,. The final offer amount will depend on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
