Job Title: ECVC Attorney - Income Principal
Job Responsibilities:
The ECVC Attorney - Income Principal will join the Business Group at a law firm, providing a full-service bi-coastal platform to attract and expand a diverse range of business and corporate clientele. The attorney will have the opportunity to offer hands-on, day-to-day counseling to both small and large business clients of the firm and to structure and lead sophisticated transactions across various industry sectors. The role involves:
- Working with talented attorneys across the firm's six offices.
- Engaging in traditional corporate governance and counseling matters.
- Representing early-stage and emerging brands and companies, particularly in capital raise transactions involving private offerings, debt, and equity financing from a diverse group of investors including friends and family, angel investors, venture capital funds, syndicates, and traditional banks.
- Having experience in public company matters, capital markets, securities, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) is advantageous.
- Collaborating with attorneys and staff motivated by excellent client service.
- Engaging in pro bono and public service matters, supporting significant pro bono cases that protect the rights of vulnerable groups.
- Contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, guided by the Opportunity & Progress Council (OPC) to break down institutional and cultural barriers and create an environment conducive to collaborative work.
Education and Experience Information:
The successful candidate for the ECVC Attorney - Income Principal position must have:
- At least 7 years of experience in representing early-stage brands in capital raise transactions, including private offerings and financing from various investors. Additional expertise in public company matters, capital markets, and M&A is a plus.
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school and a license to practice law.
- Strong academic credentials and excellent analytical and writing skills.
- A client-service approach and exceptional communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for working as part of a diverse team or independently.
- The ability to manage significant individual responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- A responsive and professional demeanor.
Salary Information:
The annualized salary range for the ECVC Attorney - Income Principal position is $200,000 to $325,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
