This role is well-suited for an attorney with at least one year of immigration law experience, particularly in removal defense and family-based immigration. Duties

  • Provide legal representation in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court

  • Represent clients before USCIS and ICE in immigration-related matters

  • Draft motions, legal briefs, memos, and pleadings for immigration cases

  • Prepare and file appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)

  • Draft and submit visa petitions, asylum applications, and family-based immigration filings

  • Maintain client relationships and provide strategic guidance on case options

  • Collaborate with legal staff and maintain accurate case documentation

  • Monitor changes in immigration law and adapt case strategy accordingly

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience practicing immigration law

  • Experience handling removal defense and appearing before USCIS

  • Ability to manage a caseload and work independently within a small firm setting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Familiarity with both family-based and humanitarian immigration cases

  • Proficiency in legal drafting and document preparation

  • Bilingual in Nepali, Hindi, or Tibetan (preferred but not required)

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the United States

Skills
