Job Title: Data, Privacy, and Cybersecurity Associate

Job Responsibilities:
The Data, Privacy, and Cybersecurity Associate will play a pivotal role in the cybersecurity and incident response practice within the law firm. The associate will be responsible for advising innovative companies that are navigating cybersecurity incidents and addressing complex privacy and cybersecurity issues. Key responsibilities include:

- Representing clients in connection with major security incidents.
- Providing counseling on best practices and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Offering cybersecurity expertise to companies involved in technology transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic corporate transactions.
- Advising cybersecurity companies on legal compliance with respect to security research and threat intelligence activities.

The associate will take on significant responsibilities within the group, contributing to the growth of the practice to better serve leading technology companies as they face the increasing complexity of cybersecurity regulations.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for this role should possess:

- Relevant experience in cybersecurity and privacy, ideally within state or federal government agencies.
- Experience with incident response, cybersecurity investigations, or cybersecurity counseling is considered an advantage.
- Superior academic credentials.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Successful candidates are expected to be in their 2nd to 4th year of practice as associates. The position is open to candidates who can work in Washington DC, Palo Alto, San Francisco, Austin, Boston, Century City, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, or Seattle.

Salary Information:
The salary range for the Data, Privacy, and Cybersecurity Associate role is between $235,000 and $310,000, depending on the year classification of the candidate. In addition to the base salary, discretionary merit bonuses may also be awarded.
