The Los Angeles Superior Court is the largest unified trial court in the United States. With 580 judges and commissioners working in 36 facilities, the Court is supported by over 4,800 full-time employees and has an annual budget of over $1 billion. Located in Southern California, Los Angeles County is one of the nation's largest and most populous counties, covering 4,752 square miles with over 10 million residents.

About the Programs:

The Court's internship programs provide participants with practical work experience, skill development, and a deeper understanding and appreciation for the judicial system. The programs offer opportunities to learn about court procedures and various operations, functions, and activities.

Paralegal Program:

The paralegal program offers participants the opportunity to gain experience in preparing legal documents for cases involving child support, spousal support, and health insurance issues. Placements are available in Family Law, including Self-Help Centers, Domestic Violence Clinic, Guardianship Clinic, and Toll Family Law Counseling Center with LAFLA. Participants will also have access to networking opportunities and an overview of Court processes and procedures.

Who Should Apply:

- Students currently enrolled in paralegal schools, colleges, and universities throughout LA County.
- Individuals who have completed a Paralegal certificate program in paralegal schools, colleges, or universities.

Note: Most programs offer internships that may be used for course credit or certification. It is the responsibility of the applicant to determine if the Court's program meets the requirements of their specific course/program.
