About the Program:
- Offers practical work experience and skill development
- Familiarizes participants with court procedures and operations
- Intended to provide an enhanced understanding and appreciation for the judicial system
Paralegal Position:
- Provides quality paralegal work experience
- Assists with preparation of legal documents for cases involving child support, spousal support, and health insurance issues
- Participants receive experience, networking opportunities, and an overview of court processes and procedures
- Placement areas include Family Law (Self-Help Centers, Domestic Violence Clinic, Guardianship Clinic, Toll Family Law Counseling Center with LAFLA)
- Ideal for students currently enrolled in paralegal schools, colleges, and universities throughout LA County or individuals who have completed a paralegal certificate program
- Volunteer position with no pay or compensation from the Court or third party
- Volunteers may receive aid or benefits as part of a government program

- If qualified, placed on eligibility list for up to 6 months and considered for available opportunities
