Job Overview

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Antitrust Litigation Associate to join its Government Enforcement & Investigations team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of significant antitrust experience and a solid foundation in antitrust principles. The role will involve a variety of matters, including litigation, mergers, government investigations, and counseling. Candidates should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, with litigation experience being preferred. A background in economics is a plus, but not required.

Duties

  • Collaborate with senior partners on a range of antitrust litigation matters.
  • Work on merger cases, government investigations, and antitrust counseling.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare and review legal documents, and manage case files.
  • Assist in drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs for litigation matters.
  • Participate in strategy sessions and provide legal analysis for complex antitrust issues.
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates and gather necessary information for cases.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations, arbitration, and trial preparations as required.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant antitrust experience.
  • Strong foundation in antitrust principles.
  • Litigation skills preferred.
  • Undergraduate coursework in economics is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • DC Bar membership preferred but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the DC Bar is preferred.

Skills

  • Antitrust and litigation experience.
  • Familiarity with government investigations and merger-related antitrust issues.
  • Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple complex legal matters.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and platforms.
