Job Title: Tax Senior - Private Wealth
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior in the Private Wealth Tax practice at the company, the individual will engage in the following responsibilities:
- Conduct high-level reviews of tax research related to individual, fiduciary, partnership, closely-held corporations, estate, and gift work papers and tax returns.
- Prepare for and assist in client meetings focused on compliance and consulting projects.
- Address tax planning opportunities and analyze the tax implications of transactions for clients.
- Provide comprehensive wealth transfer planning advice to ultra-affluent clients, including families with multigenerational wealth, entrepreneurs, family offices, and closely-held business owners.
- Assist clients in making informed, strategic decisions concerning their personal financial comfort, business and investment needs, family legacy, and charitable giving during their lifetime and through estate planning.
Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns.
- Experience with reviewing trust documents.
- Proficiency in technology, specifically Microsoft Excel and compliance software, as well as strong research and writing skills.
- Capability to travel up to 25% on average, depending on the work and the clients and industries/sectors served.
- Holding one of the following active accreditations, or willing and able to obtain one: Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA; if not CPA eligible, then Licensed Attorney or Enrolled Agent.
- Additional certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) are considered valuable.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree such as Master of Science in Taxation (MST), Juris Doctor (JD), or Master of Laws (LLM).
- Prior experience working in a Big 4 accounting firm.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to articulate conclusions, planning opportunities, and risks identified through research projects.
Salary Information:
The wage range for the Tax Senior - Private Wealth role at the company is estimated to be between $66,570 and $151,580. This range takes into account various factors considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is noted that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, there is the potential eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, which considers factors such as individual and organizational performance.
Note: The recruitment for this role concludes on May 31, 2026, and it is available in 58 locations. The position requires a hybrid work model, necessitating US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2–3 days per week.
