Job Description:
- New York City Law Department seeking admitted attorney with four years litigation experience for Assistant Corporation Counsel role in Family Court Division's Advanced Litigation and Major Case Unit
- Successful candidate will receive extensive training and develop expertise in investigation and prosecution of firearms cases
- Will handle primarily firearms cases but may also handle other types of felony cases
- Work primarily in Bronx, Brooklyn, or Manhattan offices, but may be required to appear in any of the Family Courts across all five boroughs of New York City

Juvenile Delinquency Unit:
- Serves as Presentment Agency in juvenile delinquency proceedings before Family Court
- Goal is to address needs and best interest of youth and ensure safety of community
- Currently involves youth under 18 who have been arrested for conduct that would constitute a crime if they were adults
- Responsibilities include carrying caseload and handling all aspects of practice, such as community outreach, case investigation, motion practice, discovery, and courtroom litigation
- Borough assignment will include cross-designation as Special Assistant District Attorney, drafting cases and appearing in Youth Part of Supreme Court
- Will participate in citywide rotation of night and weekend court assignments

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be admitted and in good standing in New York
- Substantial experience in family court or criminal law required
- Must be able to work independently and have strong litigation, oral and written communication skills
- Must possess excellent judgment, organizational abilities, leadership skills, and knowledge of criminal law and evidentiary issues
