Job Title: Associate General Counsel - Contracting

Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for providing legal advice, support, and coordination on more complex legal matters or projects. The role involves representing the company in detailed or difficult litigation and administrative proceedings, providing legal support to divisional management on specific business issues, and representing the company in dealings with applicable regulatory bodies and government agencies. The position also includes providing advice and guidance to less experienced attorneys as required. Additional responsibilities include:
- Providing legal support on moderately complex projects relating to corporate contracts.
- Offering legal support on more routine day-to-day business matters with a reasonable degree of independence.
- Possessing strong and proven negotiation skills.
- Working proactively with business and legal partners to identify and address potential regulatory, legal, and business risks.
- Exercising judgment and ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Providing functional advice and guidance to legal support staff when assigned.
- Collaborating with legal colleagues to identify legal issues with potential cross-functional impact.
- Communicating and interacting effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrating the ability and interest in learning and willingness to take on new challenges.
- Complying with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies, and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
- Maintaining complete confidentiality of business information.

Education and Experience Information:
- Juris Doctor Degree and a license to practice law in the state where the legal department is located.
- 8 years of experience as an attorney with demonstrated understanding/experience of the health care or insurance field.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiations and diplomacy skills.

Preferred Job Requirements:
- 3-5 years recent experience in health care law and/or insurance law.

Salary Information:
Compensation for this position ranges from $143, to $267,. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Additional Information:
The position can be based in Chicago, Illinois; Richardson, Texas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Helena, Montana, or Nashville, Tennessee. This role is a hybrid role, requiring in-office hours 3 days a week at the respective office location. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
