Job Responsibilities:
Court of Appeals Law Clerks play a crucial role in the judicial decision-making process by conducting legal research and case analysis for judges at the **Members Only**. The court reviews cases appealed from district courts and administrative agencies. Law clerks are tasked with:
- Analyzing and researching cases on appeal.
- Reviewing the record and transcripts from district courts.
- Evaluating opposing briefs and supplementing the legal research presented in those briefs.
- Assisting judges in synthesizing facts and law through the preparation of bench memoranda.
- Aiding judges in drafting opinions and cite-checking those opinions.
This position provides clerks with opportunities to develop legal research, reasoning, strategy, and writing skills. Clerks gain exposure to various substantive areas of law, receive mentoring from judges, and form professional relationships with fellow clerks.
Education and Experience:
To apply for the Court of Appeals Law Clerk position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Position Logistics:
The position is classified as a Court of Appeals Law Clerk and is based at the **Members Only** in downtown Saint Paul, Minnesota. Applications must be submitted by July 13th, 2025, at 11:59 pm.
