Job Overview:
A law firm located in Houston, TX, is currently seeking a full-time Litigation Associate with hands-on experience across the litigation lifecycle. The role is designed for an attorney who is enthusiastic about consumer-focused civil disputes, including early-stage case strategy, active litigation, and post-judgment proceedings. The position requires in-office presence and involves meaningful courtroom exposure, direct client interaction, and broad responsibility in managing litigation matters from inception through appeals.
Duties:
Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, and trials
Conduct, defend, and attend depositions
Draft and review legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and responses
Prepare case summaries, demand letters, and other pre-suit materials
Oversee and approve discovery production and responses
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda as needed
Manage appellate briefs and post-judgment enforcement actions
Maintain active communication with clients and involved parties
Participate in firm-provided legal training and development sessions
Requirements:
Prior experience in civil litigation, preferably within a consumer law context
Demonstrated ability to manage matters independently across multiple phases of litigation
Strong advocacy, negotiation, and legal writing skills
Ability to work in-person full-time from the Houston office
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
An active Texas State Bar license is required
