- Responsibilities:
- Represent indigent adults charged with criminal felonies
- Develop fundamental trial skills under the mentorship of experienced attorneys
- Manage all aspects of caseload
- Work respectfully and successfully with clients, colleagues, opposing counsel, and the courts
- Demonstrate compassion for clients and a desire to zealously advocate on their behalf
- Treat clients with dignity and offer honest advice and the best defense
- Qualifications:
- Graduate or anticipated graduate of an accredited law school
- Currently licensed to practice law in Kansas or in good standing in another state and willing to seek admission to the Kansas bar immediately upon hire
- Compassionate and passionate about public defense
- Able to work with a team and utilize community connections and resources
