Job Title: Tax Manager, Blockchain & Cryptocurrency
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager at the company, specializing in Blockchain and Cryptocurrency, you will leverage your prior experience to manage teams providing tax advisory and compliance services to a diverse range of clients. These clients include companies engaged in protocol launches, NFT platforms, infrastructure companies involved in mining and staking, exchanges, asset managers, and corporates now utilizing crypto/blockchain solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Leading clients in legal entity structuring, token analysis, deal analysis, revenue recognition, sourcing, and implementation of clients' tax objectives.
- Performing detailed reviews of tax research, agreements, work papers, and tax filings.
- Coordinating and communicating with client contacts to understand their business, gather information, and provide tax-efficient solutions.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising tax staff.
- Preparing and leading client meetings on advisory and compliance projects related to tax planning opportunities and the tax implications of various transactions to the organization.
- Involvement in marketplace eminence building and pursuits.
Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for the role of Tax Manager, Blockchain & Cryptocurrency, the following educational and experience criteria must be met:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Tax controversy
- Corporate or partnership tax
- State and local tax
- International tax
- Tax compliance
- Tax structuring
- Mergers and acquisitions tax
- Experience in managing projects, including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing.
- One of the following accreditations obtained:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Other accreditations such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) may also be acceptable depending on the specific role and business approval.
- Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
Salary Information:
The compensation for the role of Tax Manager, Blockchain & Cryptocurrency at the company is influenced by a variety of factors, including skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The estimated wage range for this role is $104,160 to $193,440. It is important to note that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program. Any award, if applicable, depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
