Job Title: Corporate Associate Attorney- Investment Services

Job Overview:
A Washington, law firm is seeking a driven and detail-oriented attorney to join its Investment Services group. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment handling sophisticated matters involving registered funds, advisers, and regulatory compliance. The role provides immediate exposure to clients and supports long-term career growth through hands-on experience and strategic mentoring.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on federal securities law matters, particularly those involving the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Securities Act of 1933

  • Provide legal support to registered investment companies, investment advisers, and private funds

  • Assist in structuring transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, within the investment management space

  • Collaborate with internal teams and senior stakeholders to deliver regulatory guidance and compliance strategies

  • Draft, review, and negotiate fund formation and registration documents

  • Support business development initiatives and maintain direct client contact

  • Manage concurrent matters and deadlines effectively in a dynamic environment

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience practicing corporate or securities law at a law firm

  • Background working with investment companies, investment advisers, and private funds

  • Familiarity with compliance obligations under federal securities laws

  • Exposure to transactional work involving funds or asset managers

  • Admission to practice in, or eligibility for admission to, the District of Columbia

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic performance preferred

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in good standing (or pending) in the District of Columbia

Skills:

  • Sound legal judgment and strong analytical capabilities

  • Ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously

  • Excellent communication and drafting abilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset

  • Self-motivated with an eagerness to grow professionally

Job Location:

  • Washington, DC

  • Hybrid work schedule with in-office presence three days per week
