Job Responsibilities:
The 2L Summer Associate position offers law students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the daily life of an attorney at a law firm. This includes meaningful career development, network building, and an in-depth mentorship experience. Associates will participate in a nine- to ten-week clerkship, where they will engage with various legal tasks and projects, providing them with practical knowledge and insights into the legal profession.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the 2L Summer Associate position should be rising second-year law students with strong academic credentials. Applicants are required to submit a resume, cover letter, and transcript (an unofficial version is acceptable). Those interested in Intellectual Property (IP) should have an academic background or relevant work experience in engineering, computer science, or physics, and must provide an undergraduate transcript.
Salary Information:
The law firm offers scholarship opportunities as part of the summer associate program. The scholarships are designed to attract outstanding students to the private practice of law and support their success in law school through work and mentorship experiences. For 2L students, there is an opportunity to receive up to $40,000 in scholarship funds to assist with school-related expenses. The scholarship payments are structured as follows:
- $10,000 if they receive and accept the 1L summer offer
- $25,000 if they receive and accept the 2L summer offer
- $15,000 if they receive and accept the First-Year Associate offer
- Potential Total Scholarship: $50,000
Additional Information:
The law firm uses the Suited Assessment as part of its candidate evaluation and recruitment process to expand consideration of candidates beyond traditional hiring metrics. Completing the Suited assessment is mandatory, but candidates may request a reasonable accommodation if needed. The assessment only needs to be completed once by each candidate.
