Introduction:
The **Members Only** Group is seeking an experienced privacy attorney to support their Office of Privacy and Innovation Governance. This role will report to the Chief Privacy Counsel and provide legal advice and leadership on privacy, cybersecurity, data use, and technology matters. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HIPAA, state and federal privacy laws, and breach notification requirements, as well as strong communication and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and leadership for data loss incident preparation and response.
- Counsel on advanced and cutting-edge data use and acquisition, data mapping, classification, and related governance.
- Manage legal issues and risk related to data analytics, AI, de-identification, and emerging technologies.
- Support privacy, security, and data protection in relationships and contracts with technology companies and data aggregators.
- Interpret and apply privacy and data protection laws to various business initiatives.
- Negotiate privacy and data use provisions.
- Collaborate with other attorneys as a subject matter expert.
- Stay informed of changes in privacy and data protection laws and communicate their impact on business operations.
- Apply sound business judgment and continuously improve service.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree required.
- 6-8 years of healthcare regulatory compliance experience, preferably in-house at a large healthcare company.
- Deep understanding of HIPAA, state and federal privacy laws, data use regulations, and breach notification requirements.
- Extensive experience assessing and mitigating legal risks related to privacy and data governance, cybersecurity, data and digital transactions, and consumer experience.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide clear and actionable legal guidance.
- Highly collaborative and able to build strong professional relationships.
- Sound judgment and strong analytical abilities.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Intellectual flexibility and ability to reassess priorities.
- Strong ability to drive successful initiatives throughout the business.
- Hybrid role - 3 days in office.
Salary and Benefits:
- Anticipated annual salary of 152,500 - 254,100 USD, depending on experience and location.
- Eligible for annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, dental, and well-being and behavioral health programs.
- 401(k) with company match, company paid life insurance, tuition reimbursement, and minimum of 18 days of paid time off per year.
