Job Title: Tax Manager, Alternative Investments
Job Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:
- Ensures that clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens.
- Ensures that self and client service teams comply with all company policies, standards, and the **Members Only** Tax Quality Manual.
- Applies understanding of client’s unique circumstances, documentation, and legal requirements to prepare required filings, ensuring full compliance and minimizing tax burdens.
- Ensures all data needed for filing requirements are collected and communicates missing items for return preparation.
- Utilizes company compliance software to maximize efficiency in the tax preparation process.
- Collaborates with Principals, Tax Seniors, and Associates on project completion, following up with open items.
- Delivers high-quality federal, state, and international tax compliance services.
- Leads complex engagements with a team of tax professionals.
- Manages engagements, including billing, collections, and budget for projects.
- Builds and manages client relationships.
- Ensures and documents client work and conclusions in the client tax file.
Tax Consulting:
- Assists with identifying, developing, recommending, and implementing efficient and effective tax strategies.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages and mentors teams of Tax Seniors and Associates.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; focus in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred.
- Master’s Degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred.
Experience:
- Five or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience required.
- Financial Services industry experience supporting Alternative Investment funds, including Venture Capital, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Hedge Funds preferred.
- Proficiency in the taxation of partnerships preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent required.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role is beneficial.
Software:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases preferred.
- Proficient in tax compliance process software preferred.
