Job Title: Litigation Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:

The Litigation Paralegal is responsible for assisting attorneys by providing crucial clerical and research support services. This includes tasks such as document preparation and review, interviewing clients and witnesses, conducting research, investigating and fact-checking, and preparing for trial. The role demands a daily on-site presence due to the nature of the work involved. Specific duties include:

- Listening to and transcribing attorney dictations.
- Drafting and preparing correspondence and memoranda.
- Collaborating with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss cases or projects.
- Drafting legal documents, such as routine pleadings, motions, affidavits, and interrogatories, and filing these documents in accordance with judicial procedures and local requirements.
- Researching and analyzing statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources to provide written analysis to attorneys.
- Interviewing clients and witnesses and summarizing their statements.
- Preparing, organizing, storing, and retrieving case files, which may involve evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other items.
- Assisting attorneys with trial preparation, potentially attending trials and hearings.
- Developing and maintaining records regarding billable hours on specific cases.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:

- An Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field is preferred.
- A Paralegal certificate is preferred.
- Knowledge of Tennessee state and federal court proceedings is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience is required.

Salary Information:

The position offers a salary starting from $50,000 per year, as provided by the employer.

Additional Requirements:

Candidates must be able to work on-site from Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. The ability to commute to Nashville, TN 37203 is required. An Associate degree is mandatory, and possession of a Paralegal Certificate is preferred.
