Job Responsibilities
The General Liability Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling various aspects of insurance defense litigation. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing cases through all phases of litigation, including case management, motion practice, and discovery.
- Handling hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials.
- Providing a defense for property and personal injury claims for businesses and individuals who may be insured or self-insured.
- Litigating and trying catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and complex litigation cases.
Education and Experience Information
Candidates must have at least one (1) to seven (7) years of experience in insurance defense litigation. Experience should include:
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Experience in managing cases, motion practice, and discovery.
- Experience in handling hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials.
- Admission to the Oregon Bar is required.
While prior insurance defense experience is preferred, the firm is open to working with attorneys who have substantive litigation experience in other areas. The firm values talented attorneys with excellent skills in any litigation arena.
