Job Title: Director, Global Lease Administration - Contract (12-24 months)
Job Responsibilities:
- Policy Development: The Director will be responsible for developing standards and policies related to space type, size, and build-out parameters. This will help standardize a global approach to managing costs effectively.
- Lease Management: The role includes maintaining and managing a centralized database of all global leases. This is crucial to support decision-making processes, ensure accurate record-keeping, timely renewals, and compliance with lease terms.
- Negotiation: The Director will assist offices with lease negotiations, including renewals, amendments, new leases, and vendor agreements. This involves leveraging market research and alternative options to secure favorable terms and supporting decision-making through benchmarks on space utilization and market trends.
- Strategic Relationships: Building relationships and offering support and guidance to the firm’s Chief Executives, Regional Operating Officers, and the Global Management Committee is essential.
- Financial Analysis: Conducting financial analysis to assess occupancy costs, budgeting for potential increases, and exploring options for financial incentives or concessions from landlords is a key responsibility.
- Market Research: The role involves comparing current market rates for similar properties, investigating alternative locations, and understanding landlord positions and market conditions.
- Legal Compliance: Ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, reviewing changes in zoning laws or building codes, and consulting with legal and procurement on lease terms, liabilities, and reporting obligations is critical.
- Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing a strategic roadmap for lease management, optimizing space utilization, and supporting remote/flexible work trends is part of the strategic responsibilities.
- Technology Integration: Collaborating with IT to develop standards for AV and IT equipment in office refurbishments and relocations is required.
- Employee Amenities: Evaluating amenities that enhance employee satisfaction and productivity, ensuring the workspace promotes a healthy and safe environment is necessary.
- ESG Objectives Support: Tracking and reporting sustainability metrics, collaborating with the CSO to ensure progress related to the firm’s targets (., LEEDs, BREEAM) is an essential duty.
Education and Experience Information:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, real estate, finance, or related fields is required.
- Strong experience in lease administration, real estate management, or a related role in a multi-continent environment is necessary.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing complex lease agreements, considering local language requirements during negotiations and review of terms are essential.
- The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, multiple stakeholders, and brokerage firms, as well as individually, is required.
- Excellent project management and budgeting skills are important.
- Solid and verifiable experience with local and international real estate regulations and compliance is crucial.
- Proficiency in lease management software and tools is necessary.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- A sound understanding of law firm structure and environment is important.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.

Salary Information:
This position is bonus-eligible and includes medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits based on the number of hours worked. If located in an office in California, Illinois, New York, or Washington DC, the US base compensation for this position is expected to be up to $300,000 annually. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
