Job Title: Legal Assistant - Litigation - Environmental and Natural Resources

Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Assistant is expected to provide advanced legal and administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and other colleagues in the Environmental and Natural Resources Practice Group. Key responsibilities include:
- Understanding the specific needs and business of the practice group.
- Managing office logistics and the business intake process, including running adversary searches and drafting screening memos and engagement letters.
- Preparing, revising, and formatting legal documents and correspondence using various software applications, as well as proofreading for content, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Transcribing digital audio files into written transcripts as needed.
- Preparing documents for electronic filing and e-filing with federal and state courts.
- Handling incoming and outgoing telephone calls, mail, and emails.
- Supporting client activities and providing client assistance.
- Maintaining and managing attorney/paralegal calendars, including docketing court deadlines and scheduling meetings.
- Assisting with in-office tasks, projects, and overflow work to support attorneys and colleagues.
- Navigating workflow technology efficiently and working with central teams for quality assurance.
- Managing workflow and priorities effectively.
- Proactively supporting the team and demonstrating a collaborative approach.
- Serving as a resource to teammates and potentially managing logistics for meetings.
- Liaising with courts when necessary.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must have a high school education with at least four years of legal assistant experience, or two years of legal assistant training plus at least two years of experience. Required skills include advanced legal assistant capabilities, accurate typing, proficiency with personal computers, and strong knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Candidates should also possess excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading skills, along with advanced knowledge of legal terminology. Experience in litigation and e-filing, as well as knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules, is essential. Advanced knowledge in specialty areas such as bankruptcy, real estate, or construction is preferred. Familiarity with software like iManage, iCompli, Intapp, Emburse, and CompuLaw is also preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure and independently are required.

Salary Information:
The salary range for this position varies by location. In Colorado, the range is to per hour; in Montana, it is to per hour; and in Washington, DC, it is to per hour. A discretionary bonus may be available based on performance. The compensation package also considers the candidate’s education, training, experience, work location, external market, internal value, seniority, and internal pay alignment.

Additional Information:
The position requires the ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, lift weights of at least ten pounds, and perform repetitive wrist/hand/finger movements. A professional office atmosphere with exposure to computer screens is expected, with a primarily sedentary work environment. A hybrid work schedule is available after the first 90 days of employment, with three days in-office and two days remote per week. The hybrid structure may change based on business needs.
