Job Title: Senior Advisor Staff Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
The Staff Attorney role involves providing legal advice and exposure to product owners, data scientists, sales, operations, and executives within the company. The primary duties include drafting, revising, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts while liaising with internal business stakeholders on various commercial issues such as contract interpretation and compliance. The successful candidate will also be responsible for completing other ad hoc projects as assigned. The position requires reporting to the Senior Managing Counsel and working collaboratively with other members of the legal and contracts team and business unit stakeholders.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must possess a JD degree from an accredited law school and be licensed and admitted to the bar in the state where they will practice. The role requires 2-5 years of legal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, specifically with commercial contracts transaction experience. Candidates must be able to independently draft, revise, and negotiate customer and vendor contracts with minimal supervision. Strong analytical skills are necessary to interpret contractual terms and communicate them clearly to internal stakeholders. The candidate should possess good interpersonal skills, be team-oriented, and able to work collaboratively with diverse internal groups. A strong work ethic and the ability to independently manage multiple projects under tight deadlines are essential.

Preferred qualifications include being detail-oriented and organized, having proficient knowledge of data privacy laws and corporate/commercial law in the United States, and possessing experience and knowledge of the insurance industry, including insurance underwriting, coverage, claims, and litigation. A creative, problem-solving mindset, keen business sense, and the ability to find creative solutions to legal issues are also desired. The candidate should have the ability to effectively balance legal risks against business interests and interact effectively with a variety of personalities across diverse internal groups, teams, divisions, and cultures.

Salary Information:
The position offers a minimum salary of $140,000 and a maximum salary of $150,000. The annualized base pay may vary depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The job schedule is full-time with a hybrid work arrangement, requiring working three days in the office at either the company's Jersey City headquarters or affiliated offices in Lehi, UT, or Boston, MA.
