Job Title: Attorney, Aerospace & Defense
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Experience: 3+ years in federal government contracts
**Members Only**, a prestigious law firm with over 170 years of experience, is seeking experienced attorneys to join their expanding Aerospace & Defense practice. This is an exciting opportunity for both partner-level attorneys with a strong book of business and associate-level support for existing clients. The firm has offices in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Oakland County, Lansing, New York, and Washington, ., but the location for this position can be in either Michigan or Washington, DC.
Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on issues in government and commercial contracts related to Aerospace & Defense matters
- Draft legal memoranda, bid protests, REAs and claims, and policy articles and commentary
- Conduct legal research on government contracts, subcontracts, administrative law, and regulatory requirements at the federal and state level
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Efficient and effective legal researcher
- Proficient in the use of legal research services
- Sound and independent judgment
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage new and existing client relationships
- Desire to actively participate in business development
Education, Experience, and/or Training:
- 3+ years of experience in federal government contracts, with additional experience in . export controls and OFAC sanctions preferred
- Space law experience is a plus
- Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, other agency FAR supplements, size protests, teaming agreements, JVs, mentor/protégé, subcontracting, supply chain, data rights, and M&A
- Experience representing clients in administrative or court proceedings, including bid protests, claims, internal and government investigations, and compliance planning and training

- Portable book of business is a plus
- Experience with government contracting cost issues, government and commercial IP rights, FMS, FMF, security clearances and FOCI, and CFIUS is highly desired
