Job Title: Attorney - Aerospace & Defense

Experience Information: 3+ years of experience in federal government contracts, with some experience in . export controls, including OFAC sanctions. More lengthy experience a plus.

Department: Aerospace & Defense Practice

**Members Only**, a 170-year old full-service law firm with offices in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Oakland County, Lansing, New York, and Washington, ., is seeking experienced attorneys to join their expanding Aerospace & Defense practice. The firm is looking for both partner-level established attorneys with a book of business and associate-level support for existing clients. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys with a background in government contracts and subcontracts to join a highly respected and established law firm.

Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice to clients on government and commercial contract issues related to Aerospace & Defense matters
- Draft legal memoranda, bid protests, REAs and claims, and policy articles and commentary
- Conduct legal research on government contracts, subcontracts, administrative law, and regulatory requirements at the federal and state level

Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Efficient and effective legal researcher
- Proficient in using legal research services
- Sound and independent judgment
- Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision
- Experience in managing client relationships and desire to be involved in business development

Education, Experience, and Training:
- 3+ years of experience in federal government contracts, with some experience in . export controls, including OFAC sanctions. More lengthy experience is a plus.
- Space law experience is also a plus
- Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, other agency FAR supplements, size protests, teaming agreements, JVs and mentor/protégé, subcontracting and supply chain, data rights, M&A, compliance, and transactional and litigation support
- Experience representing clients in administrative or court proceedings, including bid protests, claims, internal and government investigations, and compliance planning and training
- Admitted to the State Bar of Michigan or the . Bar or eligible for admission in Maryland or Virginia by the anticipated start date
- Portable book of business is a plus
- Familiarity with government contracting cost issues, government and commercial IP rights, FMS, FMF, security clearances and FOCI, and CFIUS is also a plus
