Job Title: Senior Underwriting Counsel (Remote in ID or MT)
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization to company personnel, agents, and customers related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
- Utilize underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite the issuance of title insurance.
- Offer guidance to company personnel in the performance of real estate settlement services.
- Issue underwriting standards and guidelines in accordance with established company processes.
- Communicate information related to underwriting and real estate settlement services to the team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- Law Degree required.
- Must be admitted to practice in the state of employment and licensed to practice law, in good standing.
- 8-10 years of title underwriting experience.
- Familiarity with real estate law is essential.
- Excellent understanding of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of the real estate title and settlement process.
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to real estate title insurance and settlement services.
- Understanding of underwriting real estate transactions for the issuance of title insurance policies.
- Ability to collaborate and act decisively.
- Detail-oriented with excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task, prioritize, and follow up in a timely manner.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Requires abstract thinking and creative solutions.
- Ability to ‘think outside the box’ and make unique yet sound decisions to resolve complex issues.
- Ability to build relationships and create rapport.
Salary Information:
Pay Range: $126,100 - $168,100 Annually
- This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting.
- Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
