Job Title: Internship Spring - Family Law Unit
Job Responsibilities:
Interns at the organization will be involved in a variety of tasks within the Family Law Unit. The responsibilities will vary based on the intern's availability and experience. Interns are expected to assist in providing client services, advocacy, and other intensive work. The specific duties include:
- Conducting client intakes and gathering necessary information for cases.
- Performing smaller research projects relevant to family law.
- Assisting staff with case preparation, including document organization and analysis.
- Observing court hearings and learning about legal procedures and advocacy.
- Engaging in direct service to clients, depending on experience and skill level.
- Attending events, learning opportunities, and trainings to enhance their understanding of family law and legal services.
Education and Experience Information:
The internship is open to a broad range of applicants, including law and undergraduate students. Academic-year interns are encouraged to work around 10 hours a week, while summer interns are expected to work full-time for approximately 10 weeks. Candidates with alternative sources of funding are supported, and the organization participates in work study programs.
