Job Title: Senior Conflicts Analyst

Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Conflicts Analyst at the law firm is tasked with the identification, analysis, and resolution of all conflicts requests, utilizing independent judgment and a comprehensive understanding of the business needs to ensure incoming work and candidates are cleared from both a business and ethical perspective. The specific duties and responsibilities include:

- Analyzing and processing all conflict requests, including complex ones, to ensure firm engagements and hires are clear from a business and ethical viewpoint
- Preparing database search terms and creating conflicts reports for related parties, including high volume, bulk searches
- Conducting corporate research to confirm the identity of all parties associated with requests and addressing potential conflicts or high-profile issues
- Identifying existing and potential conflicts for each request by reviewing and analyzing conflicts reports and supporting documents
- Understanding and interpreting database results and conflicts reports for firm partners, counsel, attorneys, and professional staff
- Preparing concise and comprehensive descriptions of prospective conflicts landscape based on the rules of professional conduct for attorneys and other submitters
- Regularly interacting with partners via email and telephone to investigate and discuss potential issues and propose solutions in connection with conflict clearances
- Providing regular updates to responsible attorneys and other users regarding conflicts clearances
- Maintaining conflicts resolution notes and responses for each request
- Requesting waivers for all matters requiring consent and confirming that all conflicts have been resolved
- Drafting conflict waivers and engagement letters as necessary
- Informing and advising firm attorneys and counsel of any special circumstances surrounding complicated requests
- Drafting and implementing necessary ethical screens
- Staying informed about current legal trends and information
- Performing conflicts case law and legal ethics research
- Providing conflicts training for secretaries, paralegals, attorneys, and staff as needed
- Performing all other duties as assigned or required

Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage, and other firm applications after orientation at the law firm
- Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours as required
- Proficiency in IntApp Open and Contract Express or similar programs
- Knowledge of the American Bar Association’s Model Rules of Professional Conduct and California State Bar Association’s Rules of Professional Conduct
- Overall understanding of a corporate law practice
- A minimum of 3 years of conflicts analyst experience or 5+ years of combined legal experience with at least 2 years in conflicts analysis
- Proven track record of performing elevated responsibilities as a Conflicts Analyst, including proficiency in more complex analyst duties
- Proven ability to conduct legal and corporate research

Preferred:
- Knowledge and experience with complete conflicts resolution strongly preferred
- Paralegal Certificate preferred or completion of an ethics course in a paralegal program
- Prior experience as a paralegal or legal researcher in a law firm
- Bachelor’s Degree, JD strongly preferred

Salary Information:
The law firm offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package and is committed to fair and equitable employment practices. The expected annual pay range for this full-time position is $100,000 to $130,000. The final offer amount will depend on geographic location, applicable experience, and the skillset of the candidate.
