Job Title: BOB- Associate Project Manager II

Department: Department of Transportation, Quality Assurance

Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as Project Engineer in the Field Operations Unit of the Quality Assurance department within the Bureau of Engineering Review and Support, Division of Bridges.
- Visit multiple construction sites and oversee construction activities, including major bridge components erection, concrete and asphalt placements, embankment, subgrade and base installation, pile driving, drilled shaft installation, and reinforcing bars formwork installation.
- Generate field reports on findings and deficiencies observed during inspections to ensure work compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Review design drawings and demonstrate knowledge of NYSDOT Standard Specifications.
- Verify project and material acceptance records and ensure compliance with NYSDOT MURK (Material Uniform Record Keeping) requirements.
- Possess knowledge of concrete and asphalt material properties, principles of mix design, methods of placement, concrete curing, and field material inspection and testing.
- Review Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) around the job site and adjacent streets for public and motorist safety.
- Participate in contractor’s progress meetings, quality assurance meetings, and perform other related duties.

Education and Experience Information:
- One year of full-time satisfactory experience in supervising employees performing project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting engineering, architectural, or landscape architectural projects, or supervising a construction project with a value of $1,000,000 or more.
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration, and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work.
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described above.
- A combination of college or university education and/or experience equivalent to five years of education and experience. Credit for experience includes 30 semester credits of college education leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in relevant fields, a Master’s degree, a Juris Doctor degree, or a valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, or Registered Landscape Architect.
- Additional qualifications for Assignment Level I include at least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity or one year as a project manager for a large and/or complex construction project.
- Additional qualifications for Assignment Level II include at least two additional years of experience in a supervisory capacity or two additional years as a project manager for a large and/or complex construction project.

Salary Information:
- Salary range: $84, – $123,

- This position is open to individuals serving permanently in the title of Associate Project Manager, those reachable on the open-competitive list (exam #3110 or exam #9003), or those eligible under the 55-a Program. Proof of filing will be required.
- Preferred skills include field construction experience and the ability to communicate verbally and in written form.
