Title: Lecturer (Continuing)
Job Responsibilities:
The appointed faculty member will be responsible for teaching core undergraduate American politics courses, specifically classes 2305 and 2306. The typical teaching load is 4/4, although there is an opportunity for a teaching release for service to the department, resulting in a 3/3 load with a service requirement. Additionally, the faculty member will contribute to advising students in the legal studies minor and certificate programs and is expected to contribute to law-related upper-division courses, including American Legal Systems and the three-course sequence in Constitutional Law. Responsibilities at the college and university level include coordinating with other advisors and overseeing the Legal Studies Certificate and Legal Studies Minor. The ideal candidate will contribute to a dynamic student body, understand the importance of a holistic student experience, and connect students to alumni to facilitate lifelong learning opportunities.
Education and Experience Information:
The minimum qualifications for this position include a master’s degree in political science or another law-related discipline, or a Juris Doctor degree (.) from accredited institutions. A . is preferred, although ABD (All But Dissertation) students may also be considered depending on their credentials. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in public law and legal studies, teaching excellence, undergraduate advising, and programmatic service.
Salary Information:
Compensation for this position is competitive and commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, experience, and discipline, in accordance with university guidelines and available funding.
