Senior Discovery Paralegal Specialist
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Discovery Paralegal Specialist is responsible for guiding clients through complex litigation and investigation support practices, particularly in the realm of eDiscovery. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating directly with lead eDiscovery Counsel on current and future eDiscovery matters.
- Reviewing Discovery workflows and policy across the agency.
- Conducting legal privilege reviews and responsiveness reviews using platforms such as Adobe Pro, Relativity, EverLaw, and eDiscovery Platform (Clearwell).
- Collaborating with attorneys and IT support teams to ensure data discoverability as new technologies are introduced to the enterprise.
- Providing professional, accurate, timely, and reliable support across the Office of the General Counsel, Operational and Administrative Divisions, DOJ, and other government agencies.
- Performing research to locate and gather material responsive to requests, including outreach and informal interviews to respond to document requests and interrogatories.
- Providing weekly statuses and periodic updates to Assistant General Counsels and other stakeholders.
- Analyzing documents and media files, and applying redactions to diverse types of privileged information.
- Coordinating classification reviews with subject matter experts.
Education and Experience Information:
- An active and maintained Top Secret federal security clearance is required.
- Five or more years of Paralegal experience.
- Three or more years of Discovery/eDiscovery experience.
- Two or more years of leading litigation projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Paralegal Studies Certificate.
- Paralegal Associates of Arts Degree.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- One or more years of progressively responsible experience performing privilege and substantive reviews on litigation support projects.
- Two years of progressively responsible experience reviewing electronic and paper materials for privilege on litigation support projects.
- Excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Demonstrated working knowledge of eDiscovery review platforms to identify documents for responsive and privileged reviews, including redaction of sensitive information.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of researching (., Westlaw, Pacer) and drafting responses to interrogatories.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records of assigned requests, including detailed case notes, discovery plans, and maintaining case information into appropriate case management systems/databases.
Salary Information:
The annual salary range for this position is $98, to $163,. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
