Job Title: Engagement Consultation Manager
Job Responsibilities:
As a Manager in the Engagement Consultation team, you will be at the forefront of regulatory compliance, focusing on auditor independence rules and their impacts on the professional services environment. Your role will involve a consultative approach, assisting engagement teams to deliver services while adhering to regulations. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Partners, Principals, Managing Directors, and Senior Managers within the department and across service lines.
- Interacting with leadership, such as Lead Client Service Partners and Professional Practice Directors, to provide guidance on independence matters.
- Analyzing services and relationships with clients in light of independence requirements, including those related to client mergers, acquisitions, and IPOs.
- Reviewing client corporate or investment structures to identify affiliates as defined in independence rules.
- Performing research and analysis, drafting conclusions and communications, and strategizing on next steps in coordination with senior team members.
- Developing an understanding of AICPA, SEC, and PCAOB independence rules and company’s Independence policies.
- Interpreting and implementing regulations related to permissible non-attest services for the company's US entities.
- Participating in policy setting by performing research and drafting communications to increase awareness of independence rules.
- Creating and revising training courses and materials in response to rule changes and new interpretations.
- Working on special projects independently and collaboratively with senior team members and engagement teams.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in accounting, finance, business, compliance, or legal fields.
- 5 to 8+ years of related experience, ideally in a professional services role and environment.
- Proficiency in standard office-productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Teams.
- Preferred qualifications include an understanding of Independence requirements for professional auditing firms, experience in regulatory compliance, public accounting, knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP standards, and a . CPA or an advanced degree in related areas such as finance, accounting, business, or law.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers various factors including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The current estimated salary range is $114,600 to $191,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, there may be eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program based on individual and organizational performance.
This position is part of the Independence & Conflicts Network, which plays a critical role in consultation and risk-management for the company, ensuring independence and objectivity when providing services to clients. The Engagement Consultation team is integral to protecting the company's reputation and maintaining compliance with independence requirements defined by policies, external rules, and regulations.
