Legal Assistant, Default Chronologies
Job Responsibilities
The Chronologies Legal Assistant plays a crucial role in preparing legal reports that deliver concise, factual, and informative summaries of the foreclosure process. This position requires maintaining a daily workload that aligns with client and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Completing daily workload and ensuring that all prepared chronologies for clients adhere to governing work rules, client procedures, and service level agreements.
- Handling and ensuring all escalations are communicated with attorneys, sales, and clients on issues pertinent to the chronologies within applicable timeframes.
- Ensuring that all chronology reports are sent to the requestor via the Lender system.
- Responding to client inquiries via phone, email, and lender systems regarding additional details about the chronologies.
- Assisting with maintaining workflow timeliness through investor prioritization, including addressing standard items and RUSH items to maximize compliance with client service level agreements.
- Staying informed of client changes, updates, and taking appropriate actions as required.
- Keeping abreast of CFPB changes and state regulatory changes.
- Performing other duties as required.
Education and Experience Information
The position requires a certain level of educational background and experience:
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred, although some college education is required, and a High School Diploma is mandatory.
- A minimum of 1+ years of experience in mortgage servicing is required.
- A minimum of 1+ years of foreclosure experience is preferred.
Candidates should also possess:
- Knowledge of Real Estate/Loan documents.
- Strong working knowledge of default services, including foreclosure, eviction, and bankruptcy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Leadership and people skills.
- The ability to independently solve complex problems.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Accurate problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to make swift, sound judgments.
- The capability of working independently under fast-paced conditions with changing priorities.
- Adaptability to new situations.
- Positive and innovative leadership skills.
- Comfort in working with senior management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and business Skype.
- Knowledge of LoanSphere BK/FC, Clarifier, Vendorscape, and Tempo systems is preferred.
Salary Information
The pay range for this position is $20 to $23 per hour.
