Job Title: Associate Attorney (Transportation)
Job Responsibilities:
As an Associate Attorney specializing in Transportation within our law firm, you will engage in a range of responsibilities that encompass both independent and collaborative activities. Your primary duties will involve managing your own caseload from initiation to completion. This includes drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to deadlines. You will prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials, thereby gaining valuable courtroom experience.
Collaboration will be a key aspect of your role, working closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies. Regular communication with clients will be essential, as you will provide them with status updates and interim written reports on their cases. Additionally, you will conduct thorough legal research and prepare memoranda to support case strategies, working alongside partners and senior attorneys for seamless case management.
Education and Experience Information:
To be considered for the Associate Attorney position, you must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Admission to the New York State Bar is a mandatory requirement. The ideal candidate should have 3 to 5 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in defense. Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, along with the ability to perform legal research and respond to discovery requests, is crucial for success in this role.
You will also need to assist in trials and hearings, requiring strong advocacy skills. Taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions will be part of your responsibilities, making attention to detail and effective communication essential attributes.
Salary Information:
The position offers a competitive salary range between $110,000 and $170,000, depending on the candidate's experience.
